I Don't Do Films For Money: Allari Naresh

Allari Naresh is one of the popular actors in Tollywood. He is way ahead of his contemporaries in terms of number of films and this 'Sudigadu' is all set to touch his half-century milestone very soon. We got a chance to interact with Naresh and he is very much excited about his upcoming film ‘Brother of Bommali’. Speaking to Greatandhra, Naresh said, “I don’t do films for the sake of money. I’m an actor and I don’t know anything in life except acting. There were rumours that I’ve hiked my remuneration after the success of ’Sudigadu’. But if really care about money, can I complete 50 films in such a short span of time? Hits and flops are the part of this game and I’m always open for criticism. If someone tells me that they didn’t liked my film, I would prefer to ask them about the negatives in the film. I will start my 50th film in 2015 and I’m really not bothered about the number. My fans and media are making me nervous (Smiles), but I won’t get carried away. I know my market, my limitations and I will plan accordingly”.

Allu Aravind's Master Plan To Attract Nagarjuna

The movie with Naga Chaitanya in the direction of Sukumar on the banner of Allu Aravind is going to start in the month of June. Tamanna is going to play female lead in this. Sources say that Aravind has got huge advantage in making this film. There has been no healthy rapport among the partners of MAA TV, Chiru, Nag and Aravind from many quite some time. At one point of time they declared for each other, 'If you want you be there or else I should be there", with respect MAA partnership.

This problem had started when Chiru-Aravind started Praja Rajyam but still Nag supported Congress. But after the defeat of PRP and the death of YSR, the situation changed and there has been sprouting rapport again among them.

Film Nagar sources say that Aravind is making this film with Naga Chaitanya to revive the lost friendship with Nag.

Aamir Khan sets up Script Wing

One of the most successful actor-producers in Bollywood, Aamir Khan is flooded with scripts and is planning to hire more people in his office to read them. He has produced blockbuster hits like”Lagaan”, “Taare Zameen Par” and “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” and now more people are keen to get the 45-year-old actor to turn their scripts into films.
Personally Aamir has no time to go through all the scripts. On an average Aamir Khan Productions gets around 8 to 10 scripts a day. But he likes to give respect to all that come in and would like someone to short-list at least send a response letter to all writers.
Most of the scripts that have landed in his office are for production and not necessarily for him as actor. The “3 Idiots” star doesn’t want any one to be ignored and so he has planned to set up a separate department for them.

Akshay rejects Hollywood; prefers “Khatta Meetha”

Akshay Kumar is one of the highest paid actors in Bollywood and he says that he will be a misfit in Hollywood and won’t desert his Indian fans. He recently rejected a lucrative offer from a Hollywood studio.
The action specialist who will be playing the role of Marathi manoos Sachin Tichkule in his forthcoming satire “Khatta Meetha” says that making people laugh is the most difficult task for an actor. “Khatta Meetha” is a political satire on the rampant corruption, narrated through the life of a struggling road construction contractor, Sachin Tichkule, played by Akshay. His character has big dreams of becoming the best road contractor in the region. However due to his lack of money and inability to bribe officials in the municipal office, Sachin never manages to get any of his bills or contracts passed. Ultimately he too becomes a corrupt contractor.

Panchakshari - Movie Review

After the success of Arundhati, which was proved a blockbuster, Anushka was flooded with offers to same kind of roles. However, she remained choosy. Her personal make-up man Chandru proposed to turn a producer and she promoted him and used her good offices and recommended him to Nagarjuna, who stood behind him as presenter of the film and Panchakshari was made under the direction of Samudra.

Story:
Venkata Narayana’s (Chandramohan) wife (Rajita) gives birth to a baby girl on the premises of a temple in Janagaon. The temple priest (Subbaraya Sarma) tells them that she has divine blessings and they named her as Panchakshari (Anushka). She grows up and on every Ashada Purnima, the Goddess joins her and Panchakshari resorts to sooth-saying on that day, during Bonalu. Only on that day, she behaves differently but for all the other days she is a normal girl.

A youth Sriram (Samrat) falls in love with her and seeks the help of the priest to get her married. The villagers perform her marriage. There is a cruel villain (Pradeep Rawat) in the village, who comes to know that there is a treasure under the temple and wanted to grab it. In order to grab the treasure, the temple had to be closed. So, he mixes sulphur in turmeric power and set afire Panchakshari at the temple during Bonalu. He also kills some devotees who visit the temple and campaigns that the death of Panchakshari is a bad omen and the temple had to be closed and get it closed permanently.

Watching Panchakshari, her daughter falls sick and Sriram takes her to city for treatment. In the city Sriram accidentally meets Honey (Anushka). He videographs her routine befriends with her. Honey is a fashion designer and has big dreams to hold a fashion show in Paris. As her father (Nazar) and aunt (Telangana Sakuntala) brings pressure on her to marry, she shows one photograph and lies that he (Raviprakash) is staying in the US for higher studies and it will take two years to return to India. What happens next is a intresting part of the story.

PERFORMANCE:Anushka has given an impressive performance in both the roles, as a girl from urban backdrop and a traditional village girl. Especially, her big eyes had become an asset for her and she was very impressive in the Goddess’ attire. She showed good ease in both the roles. Samrat is okay, though made a debut appearance. Pradeep Rawat is at his usual self and did justice to his role. Subbaraya Sarma has got a meaty character and played a full-length role in this film. Chandramohan, Nazar, Raviprakash and others have done justice to their roles. Telangana Sakutala is okay in the role of an Anushka's aunt. The one who played the role of Aghora failed to impress either with his dialogue modulation or his performance.

TECHNICAL:Cinematography by Vasu is good and the mix of graphics is perfect. However, timing of some of the graphics were unnecessarily stretched beyond limits, causing impatience among the audiences. Editing should have been a little crisper especially regarding the placing of graphics. Music by Chinna is okay, while dialogues by Thota Prasad are good in parts. When it comes to screenplay and direction, Samudra, though had a good experience in his department, appears to have trebled unnecessarily. The screenplay was quite loose and is full of jerks. The jumping of scenes caused irritation at times and it is not known how the director and the editor allowed them. Samudra had lost grip on the story at frequent intervals and the Butterfinger direction was a little embarrassing for the elite audiences. Moreover, he made a vain attempt to link relationship between Panchakshari and Honey, as it failed to gel well. Had he shown the meeting of Nazar and Chandramohan at least in a couple of scenes, it could have established strongly. But for the slight jerks in the movement of the story, the film would be liked by the audiences in B and C centres, though the city audiences may not like it that much.

REMARKS:The film had the similarities of Ammoru and Arundhati but nowhere near comparison. Samudra has worked hard and tried to impress the audiences with his limited knowledge and the film is some how appears to be okay. The introductory song of Anushka in an exposing way and an urban girl singing a mass song was of bad taste and especially such a dance in front of a temple during jatara is also little embarrassing. However, the film would definitely bring smiles on the face of the producer as the audiences in B and C centres would make it a hit.

Cast: Anushka, Samrat, Chandramohan, Nazar, Raviprakash, Brahmanandam, Subbaraya Sarma, Pradeep Rawat, Ali, Raghubabu, MS Narayana, Jeeva, Benarjee, Uttej, Nalla Venu, Chandramouli, Kotesh, Rajitha, Sudha, Telangana Sakuntala, Jayavani and others.

Credits: Lyrics – Chandrabose, Ramajogaiah Sastry and Suddala Ashok Teja, Story – Madhu Vipparthi, Dialogues – Thota Prasad, Music – Chinna, Cinematography – Vasu, Editing – Marthand K Venkatesh, Presents – Akkineni Nagarjuna, Producer – Bommadevara Ramachandra Rao, Screenplay and direction – V. Samudra.

Pawan, Siddarth and Naresh in Telugu 3 Idiots

The blockbuster of bollywood, Aamir Khan's 3-idiots will be soon remade in telugu. There is a buzz that that Pavan Kalyan, Siddharth and Allari Naresh are the most-likely to act in the telugu version.
The film-makers are planning to remake the film without deteriorating the standards of the original version. Mega Producer Allu Aravind might produce this film under his banner Geetha Arts. Sources also say that the discussions on the female lead for the film are going on.

Raavan red carpet world premiere on June 16

On the 16th of June 2010, all roads will be leading to London's BFI, Southbank. Call it historic? Yes, because the entire Raavan cast is going to be present at the red carpet world premiere of the film. Doubling it up with the presence of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mrs. Jaya Bachchan, the night will have more flashes than any other night has ever had in London for a Bollywood film.
A source close to the film tells me, "Mr. Bachchan is off to London last night and will be staying there for one week. He has some felicitation ceremonies to attend and some meetings and then he attends the Raavan premiere with wife Jaya and the cast of Raavan on the 16th. The scene is going to be like what we saw at the Paa premiere. Very rarely do we see the entire Bachchan family together at a premiere."

Badrinath: Allu Arjun’s next movie

We know that after the super hit Bunny (2005), stylish star Allu Arjun teams up with director V.V. Vinayak again in a commercial flick to be produced by hit maker Allu Aravind under the banner of Geetha Arts. Now it is heard that this film has been titled Badrinath.
Currently, Vinayak has finalised the tamanna as heroine in badrinath , other cast and crew. Badrinath will be launched soon. According to sources, V.V. Vinayak has made a script on the same lines as Bunny to attract larger crowds with all the entertaining elements.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is busy with director Gunashekar's new film, produced by hit maker D.V.V. Danaiah. Arya of Nenu Devudni fame is the villain. Mani Sharma is scoring the music. The shooting will be complete by August

Anushka in Panchakshari

Mass director V Samudra, who made an unsuccessful attempt with the heroine-oriented film Mallepuvvu, starring Bhumika last year, is now gearing up for the second such film.
This time, the heroine is none other than Anushka, who ripped out a sensation with her Arundhati all over the state. The film is titled as Panchakshari. Akkineni Nagarjuna is the presenter.
Sairatna Creations banner is making the film, with Bommadevara Ramachandra Rao producing it. Anushka says: "Ramachandra has been asking me to do a film for him right from the start of my career in Tollywood. I told them that I would definitely honour his request, but it would take some time as I had to settle first.
"Now, I feel great to be keeping my word. There would be no link between my previous film, Arundhati, and Panchakshari."

Movie Review: Vedam

'Vedam' tests your patience to the breaking point, maybe beyond. This is a Crash/Babel-like roundelay of desperately manufactured bathos that covers the entire spectrum of miserable plotting and characterization.
Director Radha Krishna aka Krish means well, but having your heart in the right place is no excuse for insipid ineptitude. 'Vedam' is a bland, pointless movie that happens to have a brilliantly emotional ending; as a reminder of the 26/11 tragedy wrapped up in a pop movie so as to appeal to a later generation, I pat Krish on the back. But, as disaster vessels go, this one's sunk.
Krish doesn't seem to have anything to offer beyond an unquestioning admiration of Alejandro González Iñárritu and the screenwriting homework he obviously did about the trappings of interconnecting storylines. 'Vedam' shows how some people's problems become small and insignificant in the face of momentous events. But in doing so, the movie reveals itself to be small and insignificant too. Featuring almost a dozen central characters in a movie leaves little time to explore their subplots, and since they're played by A-list celebrities, we see the stars and not the characters. As was the case with this weekend's other release 'Raajneeti', what little magic 'Vedam' has is overshadowed by the star spotting. And as a result 'Vedam' is an earnest film that shows an advance in Telugu filmmakers' technique, but one that, given its setting, seems curiously shallow, even trivial.
'Vedam' has five storylines but it becomes near impossible to give a flip about any particular one. Wannabe Rock Star Chakravarthy (Manoj Manchu) faces the ire of his mother who wants him to join the Armed Forces. Cable operator Cable Raju (Allu Arjun) is a penniless slumdog and desperately in love with the rich Deeksha Seth. Saroja (Anushka) is a small time prostitute with dreams of running her own brothel in the big city. Raheemulla Khureshi (Manoj Bajpai) faces racism in Hyderabad and plans to flee to Dubai and find peace with other Muslims. Ramulu (Nagayya) is a weaver burdened by debt, and is anxiously in need of money. As Chakravarthy arranges to go on a concert tour, Saroja escapes with her pimp's cash, Cable Raju hunts for quick dough to impress his girl, Khureshi battles his inner demons and Ramulu finds a way to repay his debts. Many events are revealed out of sequence, but needless to say, all of the characters collide at some point.
Director Krish has made a vague gesture at a large, metaphoric structure without having the dramatic means to achieve it. His previous film 'Gamyam' emerged to be path breaking, but 'Vedam' falls short on that front as it is teeth-grinding derivative. The performances range from excellent to intolerable - Manoj Bajpayi is outstanding as the harassed Muslim, Anushka has a great screen presence that is complimented by her solid dialogue delivery, Nagayya's gait is believable, Manoj Manchu is passable, Allu Arjun veers from peppy fresh at his best to cringe-worthy at his worst. Lekha Washingon and Deeksha Seth are good to look at but are migraine-inducing when they mumble their few lines. Ravi Prakash is suitably antagonistic and Brahmanandam makes a decent cameo. Technically 'Vedam' is first rate as Keeravani's music gels well with Gnanasekhar striking cinematography and Rajeev Nair's rich art direction. Ram–Lakshman's action, though a tad OTT is elevated by Sravan's crisp editing.
Final verdict? 'Vedam' seems to have a lot of volume, but not really a lot to say. It's an ambitious film drenched in sincerity but Krish's attempt to shoehorn what he sees as grand themes into a choppy and unsubtle script is slightly embarrassing.
